Jo is a textile designer, researcher and artist passionate about dying, natural colours and sustainability.
She is a true person of process with a focus on hand elements: natural dye, mark making, hand screen print, indigo and shibori resist techniques to create abstract geometric artworks and textiles.
With over fifteen years in the design industry she has sold and exhibited her work internationally. Work has featured on trend forecasting site, WGSN and has sold to clients such as Louis Vuitton, Paris.
Joanna works to commission, is a university lecturer and is currently developing a capsule collection.
These are 2 mini-movies I created during the incredible “Natural Dyeing” class by the most charming and talented textile artist there is.
I wish you could smell the delicious fumes of eucalyptus leaves and turmeric golden stock gently simmering while we were soaking up the super powers of nature with our little pieces of cloth.
(Can you tell I have a peg fetish???)
