Films with feeling

Since early childhood I’ve been drawn to hands, dirty hands, hard working hands, agile hands. The funny long hands of my grandfather making anything grow from what seemed to be a sterile soil. Dad’s round hands patiently shaping furniture with boring pieces of wood. Mum skillfully arranging plums on a tart. The same pair of hands can make and create so many fascinating things: pots, jewels, paintings, sculptures, hats, clothes, food... Years of practice have shaped the skills which bring these objects to life but also millenia of human knowledge.

I'm drawn to the movement of these hands and feel compelled to tell their enchanting stories through film.
