In December 2019, I gave myself a challenge: one new film published every day for 30 days on Instagram.

To combat creative block and editing anxiety - and to prove to myself I was capable - I decided to stop waiting for perfect conditions and just make things. Some films were footage I hadn't had time or courage to edit. Most were shot in the morning, edited through the afternoon and sometimes deep into the night.

It was the most demanding creative project I've ever taken on and the most formative. Thirty days of fighting paralysing perfectionism. Of finding technical solutions on the fly, reaching out to artists at short notice, releasing something imperfect into the world and moving on.

It taught me more about filmmaking than any other single experience.

The 30 artists, artisans and moments below are the record of that month.
